I am thinkin' GREEN!!!!

Am I the only one that get's excited at each and every holiday. Truly, Hallmark was made for me! When everyone started scrapbooking several years ago, I thought I had lost my mind the first time I went into a scrapbook store with all the specialty stickers and paper. I do not think I have ever gotten over it, beautiful paper, glittery ANYTHING and stickers are staples in my life.

I have decorated the house for St. Patrick's Day and am in full preperation mode for the holiday. I have a wonderful Key Lime Cake with Cream Cheese frosting that I will be making that is really YUMMY and countless other goodies...but today I am starting with CHOCOLATES!

**(FYI~ everything is available to order and  I do ship!!)

A few glittered shamrocks........and some beautiful candy lollipops!

Ready to go!

My signature matchbook covers ready for any occasion....

I also did some really wonderfully fun treats for a friend's son's VIP week at school! These were a special order item and I played with them 4-5 times before I was really happy with how they came out! In the end, I was thrilled and I think Jill and Daniel were as well! (after all, that is what it is all about!!)

I think  that the old saying, "the devil is in the details" in some way is really true although I believe that the details are what set my goodies apart from others.

Wishing all of you a warm Sunday evening! More to come.....

My arm's hurt.....

Today was a wonderfully busy day of cake decoration. So busy that my arms, shoulders and neck hurt from rolling out so much fondant, kneeding it and coloring it. Wow!

Today was also a great day of discovery as I did one of my first character cakes. Now, Mini was not so cooperative, she did not want to stand and a couple of times she actually lost her head when it was time to move. Much to my dismay, I got to re-make Mini 5 times!!! Yes, 5 times! In the end, I truly hope my client and friend is happy with the cake. Now, after almost 7 hours of working on the decoration of this cake.....she is DONE!!!

Wanna peak?  Here was the process:

I used my Cricut to make a stencil....(genius!!)!

Getting closer....

There are twirly things that have still to be put in (I will photograph that in the morning!)! I thought better than to tempt fate and find them broken. In the end, I am very pleased with the cake ..even though Mini's legs are still broken (shhhhhh!!).

Here is the other cake of the day which (thankfully) was a lot smaller and so fun to make~

So pretty and girly! Love it! Happy 22nd Birthday Amanda!

Off to bed, chocolate is on tap for tomorrow!

The day after the "EVENT"

Today is the day after the big "Event". Last night Yummy in my Tummy catered a specialty event for The Writers Guild in Beverly Hills called "Beyond Words" and it had all the nominated writers for Oscars. For me, it was a major stepping stone of not just doing cakes, cookies and chocolates but to be there to cater and facilitate my goodies at the event.

I am forever grateful to Wil Chen at Solo Graphics for supplying my beautiful business cards that gave me a boost of confidence every time I handed them out and for my great stickers that were all over my give away treats. I was also blessed last night that my amazing friend Kathleen Finnegan (Realtor at Prudential 818-601-0056) who used to own a catering business, went with me. I learned so much and she had such a wealth of knowledge to share that I really felt like I was guided down this path and supposted to be there. Kathleen had me look at many things from a different perspective than I would have thought of and gave such valueable advice and suggestions, I am truly grateful!

I have included a link to a site (http://topics.npr.org/photo/0c3x88J1NLeQJ) with some photos from the event (you know~the ones that the paparazzi was there to take) and than there are my pictures...
This was the program from the event with YIMT credited..

This was a short notice event.  I got confirmation that I would be catering on Tuesday for 500+ units of goodies, so here are some pictures of preperation.

Handmade chocolate cupcake toppers
Chocolates for the give aways being dusted and glittered!
I moved the chocolates to get them out of Evan's view not realizing that I had put them in the line of SUNSHINE (yes, sunshine melts chocolate). When I got back from running a few errands, my cupcake toppers were melted. Talk about stress, remaking 150 chocolate toppers in a rush was not a planned exercise for the afternoon!
Mondle Bread fresh out of the oven and ready to be packaged up for transporting..
Give away treats ready to go and all the gear for a pretty presentation.

We made it, coats and all!

We served: White Chocolate Lemon Bars, Expresso Mint Brownies, Mondle Bread and Vanilla with Buttercream frosting and Chocolate toppers! YUMMY!!
Kathleen and I..

Everyone loved the matchbooks, they are one of my best treats as they can be personalized for any occasion and with either chocolates or mini cookies! I love being creative with these and finding just the right paper to compliment the occasion, creating the ideal chocolate and watching the surprise on guest's faces as they open them up! (hint, hint - we can do logos, on chocolate, cookies, dipped oreo cookies and chocolate bars and they are a wonderful reminder of the event or the presentor)

I am off to do a mound of dishes and to start planning for St. Patricks day. Stay tuned!

Always,
Heather
